The Opportunity: Full Stack Software Engineer

We're seeking an ambitious and technically strong Full Stack Software Engineer to join our core product team. You will be instrumental in designing, building, and scaling our mission-critical platform, from robust backend APIs to intuitive customer interfaces.

This role requires a unique blend of technical depth (particularly in the modern Javascript ecosystem) and a genuine comfort with customer-facing interaction. A key focus will be on productionizing AI/LLM-driven features, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and deliver immediate business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Development: Design, build, and deploy highly scalable and reliable features across the entire application stack, from database to browser.
• AI Integration: Design, implement, evaluate and productionize secure AI capabilities into customer-facing products.
• Backend & Data Mastery: Develop robust and performant backend services using Node.js and Typescript. Manage and optimize complex relational data structures in Postgres to ensure data integrity and query efficiency.
• Customer Collaboration: Act as a technical liaison, frequently engaging with early customers and stakeholders to gather feedback, conduct technical demos, and ensure features meet real-world needs. Comfort with direct customer communication is essential.
• Quality & Maintenance: Champion high standards for code quality, architectural integrity, and security through code reviews, test automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.

What You'll Bring

• 4+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.
• Next.js and Node.js Expertise: Deep knowledge and hands-on experience designing and building scalable frontends and backends using Typescript, Next.js and Node.js.
• Postgres Proficiency: Advanced experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, performance tuning, and complex query authoring.
• AI Engineering Experience: Practical experience with AI/ML systems, specifically in the context of integrating with LLMs and evaluating their performance (using frameworks like LangChain, Vercel AI SDK, Evalite, or similar).
• Customer-Facing Comfort: Proven ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to non-technical audiences and actively listen to customer needs to translate them into product requirements.
• DevOps Fluency: Experience deploying, monitoring and operating services on cloud platforms.

We're looking for true partners to join us at this pivotal, early stage of Purelend, and our compensation reflects that shared commitment and massive upside potential.

Your compensation structure is heavily weighted toward a highly competitive equity package (stock options) and profit-sharing/bonuses. We want you to own a piece of the company and share in the financial rewards of our success.

We recognize people have different needs, so a cash base salary of up to $100,000 CAD is available to ensure you can manage your personal financial requirements while partnering with us.
